During the course of ones internet marketing career the chances of promoting an affiliated product is great. So why is it that when someone sends an affiliated link, a lot of people, even though they want to buy the product, will go out of their way to find the direct landing page of the affiliate company to avoid giving a commission to someone they know.
How often has it happened to you.
To have given someone your affiliated link only to find they have bought under someone else. Granted, sometimes if cookies are enabled, it may be the case of them visiting another link before yours but in some cases, people have gone out of their way so you don’t get the commission.
Is it just human nature that makes people do this. The thought of someone getting paid for something they may purchase?
I would love to hear comments on this as it still confuses me as to why this happens.
Just a thought: Next time you are presented with a product that you clearly would like to buy, why not click the link the person you know gave you, instead of buying under a stranger. You never know when you will be the one who is sending their affiliated link to others.
